About WoFMate
Built from the service desk, not a boardroom
WoFMate exists because the person building it has stood where you stand: running a WOF site, managing inspectors, keeping a QMS audit-ready, and filing paper checksheets while knowing there had to be a better way.
The founder
WoFMate is built by Mike, an automotive service manager who has spent his career in the workshop side of the industry — running WOF inspection operations day to day, managing inspector teams, maintaining a Quality Management System, and preparing for and sitting through NZTA audits.
That matters because WOF compliance software lives or dies on detail: what an auditor actually asks for, where paper systems actually fail, what an inspector will actually tolerate in the bay at 4:45 on a Friday. WoFMate's design decisions start from that lived detail and work backwards into software.
WoFMate is a husband-and-wife effort. Mike brings the workshop floor and the compliance experience; the platform is built with the support and assistance of his wife, Amy. It's a small family team — in the same spirit as the many husband-and-wife WOF workshops right across New Zealand.
What WoFMate believes
Records you can trust are the product. Locked checksheets, chained rechecks, audit trails — integrity is designed in, not promised.
Compliance should be continuous, not an event. The week-before-the-audit scramble is a symptom of tools that don't keep records ready by default.
Say what's true. Features that exist are described in the present tense; features in development are labelled as such. The same honesty applies to our own NZTA approval status — it's stated plainly on the Compliance page.
